Change workplaces for good.
A world where every person, regardless of job, industry or geographic location, goes home from work, not only free of injury and illness, but in a better state of wellbeing than when they arrived.
A world where every workplace leader is trauma-informed, and an effective champion of a systems-approach to prevent harms and positively influence mental health and wellbeing.
The human and organizational research is clear. Our most fundamental human needs for thriving are supported by work and workplaces. Work is a recognized social determinant of health. By integrating psychological health and safety-aligned practices you create a radically-inclusive workplace that values whole-person safety, growth and health.
Workplace health and safety is evolving on a global scale. International bodies, like ISO Standards (45001 and 45003), the International Labour Organization (ILO) of the United Nations, the World Health Organization (WHO) and regional and country jurisdictions are looking at new ways to protect mental health and wellbeing at work. The WHO has declared a global stress pandemic.
This expansion of H&S from only physical health to include our psychological health is the result of a convergence of research, changing workplace conditions, employee expectations and a deeper understanding of mental health. A psychologically healthy workplace is not only the absence of harassment, bullying and discrimination, but one where understanding and supporting people are given the same level of attention as financial and business results.
Our Team's Guiding Principles: To show up each day with a learning mindset, a commitment to ongoing growth in self-awareness, care of our own and the mental health of others, and a commitment to apply a trauma-informed lens to our work together.
Although workplaces have traditionally focused on physical health and safety hazards, injury and illness, organizational psychology and work research has led to the development of psychological health and safety and a whole-person approach to health and safety. That is our niche.
We help you get clear on these organizational questions:
What is really contributing to, or eroding, our team culture?
Are the changes and investments we made to support employee mental health effective?
Do we know if we are currently meeting new legal minimums in health and safety; especially workplace psychological health and safety?
At 13 FACTORS we have built experience supported by the strongest body of knowledge to help you make adjustments and strategic shifts that will achieve internal strategic goals faster.
