Change workplaces for the better, for good.
A world where every person, regardless of job, industry or geographic location, goes home from work, not only free of injury and illness, but in a better state of mental health and wellbeing than when they arrived.
A world where every workplace leader, manager and contributor is trauma-informed, and a champion of an evidence-based systems approach to psychological health and safety (PH&S). And where PH&S achieves the same level of strategic attention as physical safety and business productivity.
The human and organizational research is clear. Our most fundamental human needs for thriving are supported by work and workplaces. Work, growth and meaningful contribution are recognized social determinants of health. By integrating psychological health and safety-aligned management practices, and continuing to evolve policies, processes and procedures to support changing conditions you create a radically-inclusive workplace that values whole-person safety, their health and their work success.. The dual benefit -- a direct positive impact on business operations, higher productivity, quality and collaboration and lower disability costs.
Workplace health and safety is evolving on a global scale. International bodies, like ISO Standards (45001 and 45003), the International Labour Organization (ILO) of the United Nations, the World Health Organization (WHO), state and country jurisdictions are looking at new ways to protect mental health and wellbeing at work. The WHO has even declared a global stress pandemic.
This expansion of H&S from physical health to include our psychological health and our psychological protection is the result of a convergence of applied organizational and human research, changing workplace conditions, new employee expectations and broader and deepr understanding of people at work, our mental health and stress. The law lags social change, but clearer legislative obligations in PH&S duty of care for employers emerge everyday.
A psychologically safe and healthy workplace is not only the absence of or protection from violence, harassment, bullying and discrimination at work, but one where understanding, action and care for mental health and wellbeing is equal to physical safety and health.
Our Client Commitment and Our Team's Guiding Principles: To show up each day with a learning and growth mindset, practice unconditional positive regard, recognize our shared and different human journeys' and apply a trauma-informed lens to our work together.

Although workplaces have traditionally focused on physical health and safety hazards, injury and illness, organizational psychology and work research has led to the development of psychological (psychosocial) health and safety and a whole-person approach to health and safety. That is our niche.
We help you get clear on these and many other organizational questions:
Are the changes and investments we made to support mental health, designing healthy work and work environments and addressing risk and hazards to mental health doing what we intend?
Are we meeting new legal minimums in psychological (psychosocial) health and safety and our own standards for total worker health and safety?
At 13 FACTORS we have built experience supported by the strongest body of knowledge to help you make adjustments and strategic shifts that will achieve internal strategic goals faster.
If taking a fresh look at a question, a workplace issue that requires exploration or you have the opportunity to build our your PH&S or Mental Health Strategy, we are pretty darn good at helping to guide you through.
