Why?

Some stats say 1 in 5, some 1 in 4, some 1 in 3!  But the stats also say that we know those numbers are not the whole story because many mental health struggles and illnesses go unreported and untalked about.  Which ever of those numbers you settle on, that is an incredibly large number of people who experience a mental health issue every year.  The workplace is also cited as one of the highest stressors in an employee or manager's life.  While the problem may not have started there, the workplace environment is a substantial influence on our mental health, motivation, productivity and wellbeing overall.  And you can make changes that have incredibly positive impacts.

The opportunity:  Workplace PH&S-focused education and practices are positively linked to human and organizational excellence, productivity, safety, pro-social behaviour, and our mental health.

The other side:  Without strategic understanding and attention, human factors and workplace conditions can contribute to risk of increased work-related stress, negative or unconscious impacts, burnout and the potential risk of gradual-onset psychological illness or injury.

Workplace-focused education in psychological (psychosocial)  health and safety (PH&S) for all employees supports a people-centred, inclusive culture, provides a shared language to help reduce stigma and normalizes conversations of mental health and the impact of work design and work conditions.

PH& is a shared workplace responsibility.

The Standards and Foundation of our approach and work with you:  ISO 45003 (2021) global standard for Workplace Psychological Health & Safety, the Canadian PH&S Standard and 13+ factors, as well as standards, codes of practice and policy from leading jurisdications around the world, the WHO and ILO of the United Nations.  We also use the latest organizational and human factor science and research, and that of adult development and learning.

Expect increased flexibility, increased inclusion behaviours and more positive conversations of mental health at work. These are all factors essential in environments that require agility and change.

Our services also can include individual and team coaching to support how new learning can become sustainable habits.
