Some stats say 1 in 5, some 1 in 4, some 1 in 3! But the stats also say that we know those numbers are not the whole story because many mental health struggles and illnesses go unreported and untalked about. Which ever of those numbers you settle on, that is an incredibly large number of people who experience a mental health issue every year. The workplace is also cited as one of the highest stressors in an employee or manager's life. While the problem may not have started there, the workplace environment is a substantial influence on our mental health, motivation, productivity and wellbeing overall. And you can make changes that have incredibly positive impacts.
The opportunity: PH&S education and practices are positively linked to organizational excellence, productivity, safety culture and ultimately influences mental health at work.
